A Path to Balance

Step up and show your guts by committing to a healthier you!

Evon Stone Rubenstein, C-IAYT

Certified Yoga Therapist

& Health Educator

I’m Evon, a certified yoga therapist and health educator with advanced training from Loyola Marymount University. My passion is helping people with digestive issues and major life transitions find balance, healing, and resilience.

Through personalized yoga therapy sessions, I meet you exactly where you are and co-create practices of breath, movement, and mindfulness tailored to your needs. Every step is guided by compassion and supported with a HIPAA-approved health assessment system.

My background includes working at the Community Memorial Hospital Cancer Resource Center in Ventura, CA, where I supported patients before, during, and after treatment. This experience continues to shape my commitment to gentle, effective, whole-person care.

My goal is simple: to help you be kinder to yourself, listen to your body, and create daily habits that support both your digestive health and overall well-being.

Your Healing Journey

Every day, your body whispers its needs. My role is to help you hear, and respond with kindness and clarity.

Here’s how we’ll do that:

  1. A Gentle First Step
We begin with a complimentary 30-minute discovery call, a safe space to explore your health story and see if we feel aligned. If it’s not a fit, I’ll happily refer you to someone better suited to support your journey.
  2. A Thoughtful Deep Dive
If we move forward, I’ll send a secure online assessment so I can understand your body, habits, and needs. Think of it as a map, not a checklist.
  3. A Practice Made Just for You
From our conversation grows a customized yoga therapy program—breathwork, movement, mindfulness, and rituals tailored to your lifestyle, scheduling needs, and healing goals.
  4. A Path You Can Trust
We meet at a pace that honors your energy and schedule. Along the way, I’m here—by email—for any questions or support you might need.

Your path to wellness deserves the right support. Let’s start with a conversation.

Every healing journey is unique, and your willingness to take the first step is what opens the door to change. If we find that our paths are not the right fit together, I will happily guide you toward someone whose work may align more closely with your needs.

Evon has been one of the most positive influences in my life as it relates to my body and chronic pain related to my neck and back.  I have been working with her for more than a year and have made so much progress.  My neck pain has been reduced considerably and I am significantly stronger than I was when I started working with her.  She is incredibly knowledgeable both about yoga and the human body.  She takes the time to create a tailored plan for you so that you can get the most out of yoga therapy.  She surprises me weekly with new ideas, poses and points of view to enhance my treatment and be more healthy in general.  She truly cares about her clients and spends time away from your sessions to ensure you are receiving the best possible care.  When I first started with her I was a bit apprehensive about yoga therapy, but after a few months I was all in.  Most western medicine is focused on treating a condition with medicine.  Yoga therapy puts the control in your hands and teaches you how to fix your problems yourself with simple poses and stretching primarily.  It can be as light or intense as you would like based on your capabilities and goals, both short and long-term.  I cannot say enough good things about Evon and yoga therapy.  I am thrilled I started down this path and have taken control of my health and well being.  Working with Evon has been an amazing experience, I highly recommend anyone give her the opportunity to work with them. if you stick with it for a few months you will certainly see results and be hooked like me.  Thank you Evon, I truly appreciate your expertise and time.

Evon is truly a miracle for my chronic pain. Her therapies have been magical. Thank you Evon for your help over the last year.
Highly highly Recommend Evon

I started yoga to deal with lower back pain, which I discovered was really due to weak abdominal muscles.  The gentle yoga class that Evon teaches and is offered as a part of CMH Healthaware community program really helped me to strengthen my core muscles, increase my flexibility and balance. Evon encourages you to practice at your own pace, know your limitations but yet challenge yourself.

Ajaz and I would like to let you know how much we enjoy your yoga sessions. They are calm, controlled and leave us in a quiet state of mind. I have arthritis and have had stiffness in my joints for a few years. I am very happy to tell you that following your therapies, I have much better movement in my joints.
We lead a fairly hectic life, having just built a new home of course with contractor’s help, and yoga brings us back to reality. We look forward to sharing future sessions with you. You have a special way of dealing with people and communicating on a very calm, personal level. You have a talent to pick out the person who is experiencing a problem and help them in a confidential way to avoid embarrassment. When the yoga session is over we feel we cannot wait until the next one is here. You have a very pleasant personality that lends itself to yoga.

I am a woman in my 60’s that has several handicaps that limit my ability to walk or stand for long periods of time.  Yoga has been a part of my life now for over 40 years.  I attribute the strength, flexibility and energy that my body has to the practice of yoga.  If I had not continued with the program, I feel that I would be in a wheelchair today.  Take a moment to think about the positive impact that yoga can have for you & your health.  Once you decide to start, join Evon in one of her classes.  She is an excellent teacher.  Evon has worked with me in the CMHS Yoga Class for the last 3 years.  She develops programs that fit your personal needs—not exceeding your limits, but pushing you forward through gentle motion.  Enjoy yoga—enjoy life!

Thank you for sharing your Yoga Therapy in yesterday’s class. About 5pm after the class, I realized that my 4-year shoulder pain was hardly noticeable and the trapezius knots were more relaxed. Just after one session! I love yoga and have not been able to do it other than restorative classes due to my shoulder pain. Now I am looking forward to the potential for pain free yoga. Yaa!

My back is seriously messed up with a cracked vertebrae, bulging discs and no curve in my neck.  I had been getting steroid shots in my back just to be able to stand up straight.  My body doesn’t do well on pain medications and when the steroid shots stopped working I turned to Evon for help.  She gave me a 30 minute practice that I do every morning.  I know it works because I’m in control of doing it.  If I don’t do it for a couple of days, the pain comes back and I suffer.  As long as I continue to do the practice daily, I am in no pain and walk for an hour everyday.  I have taken responsibility for my own health and it is very empowering.
Thank you.
